I'M NOT SURE WHAT CLASS TO CHOOSE. HOW DO I DECIDE?

All BLS courses are for licensed healthcare professionals (Doctors, nurses, CNAs, MAs, PT, OT, etc) with the exception of the BLS advisor course. All Heartsaver courses are for individuals who have little to no healthcare experience and who do not possess a license in healthcare. WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY CARD?

Electronic cards are emailed within 24-48 hours after course completion. Cards will be sent from the AHA. If you haven't received your card after 48 hours, please contact us. Ecards are sent on the next business day for all weekend classes.

CAN I TAKE THE SKILLS SESSION IF I DON'T HAVE MY E-LEARNING CERTIFICATE?

No. The e-learning certificate must be presented before the course. An email/text will be sent instructing you to send in your online certification.

DO I HAVE TO TAKE A TEST?

Depends on which course you are taking. All BLS course students must take a written exam and pass with an 84% score. Heartsaver course students do not have a physical exam, unless testing is required by the employer. All students are required to complete and pass a skills test.

HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO REGISTER AND ATTEND A COURSE?

Journeys 8 CPR teachers students starting at the age of 10 (exception for some 9 year olds). Parents of students under the age of 18 must register for the minor child or the minor child must have a parents consent to register. J8CPR verifies through written parental consent. All K-12 students/faculty/staff should present an enrollment/employment letter.

I NEED TO CANCEL/RESCHEDULE MY CLASS. WHAT STEPS SHOULD I TAKE?

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Journeys 8 CPR strives to accommodate an array of schedules to fit the needs of our future and returning students. If you are unable to attend your scheduled course, a request to reschedule must be submitted at least 72 hours prior to the course start time. If the request to reschedule is less than 72 hours, the course fee will be forfeited, and the student will have to complete the registration process again for a future course. Cancellation/refund requests must be submitted at least 72 hours prior to the course start date. All refunds, if given, will be refunded to the same source in which payment was made, less any discounts that were applied and fees that will be incurred to issue said refund. Depending on the bank, the refund processing time is approximately 3-5 business days. Under no circumstances will refunds be issued, if any requests are made in less than 72 hours of the course start date. Absolutely under no circumstances will refunds be issued for an eLearning course once the course has been sent to the student. In the event that J8CPR must cancel a class, every effort will be made to reschedule within 72 hours on the date that is convenient for the student and J8CPR. I AM NOT ABLE TO MAKE MY SCHEDULED CLASS. AM I ABLE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR AN ALTERNATE DAY?

I HAVE COMPLETED MY E-LEARNING COURSE, WHEN CAN I REGISTER FOR THE SKILLS ONLY SESSION?

The skills session must be completed within 90 days of completing the online session. You will be asked to reschedule if the certificate is not presented. If it has been more than 90 days since completion of an online course, you will have to repeat the online course or register for an instructor led course. It is best to wait until you have completed the online course before registering for a skills session..

I REALIZED I TOOK THE WRONG E-LEARNING COURSE, WHAT DO I DO?

Unfortunately, you would have to pay for the correct eLearning course that aligns with the certification you need to obtain or register for an instructor led course. J8CPR can assist you with registering for the correct class. J8CPR is not responsible for eLearning courses purchased by third parties or students.

WHY ARE THE SAME BLENDED COURSES DIFFERENT PRICES?

Great question. Although both sessions are for skills test only, the major difference is how the e-learning course is purchased. One option is when the e-learning course is purchased by the student and has presented a certificate of completion. Then the student registers for the skills session when it is convenient for them. The other option is when Journeys 8 CPR purchases the eLearning class for the student and provides all the information on how to access their course. Then the student would attend the scheduled skills session in which they've registered for.

I NEED TO BE CERTIFIED BUT UNABLE TO PAY IN FULL FOR A COURSE. CAN I MAKE PAYMENTS?

J8CPR does not offer payment plans. However, we do sponsor one student a quarter. More details about the sponsorship will be shared on our J8 News page and all social media sites when submissions are being accepted.

WHAT DOES CPR STAND FOR?

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.

WHAT DOES BLS STAND FOR?

Basic Life Support.

ARE DISCOUNTS OFFERED?

Discounts are offered for groups of 10 or more, to returning students/organizations, and through special promotions.

DO YOU CERTIFY THROUGH THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION (AHA)?

Yes. All J8CPR classes are bound and certified through the American Heart Association education and guidelines.
